Back in Kathmandu - Open Houses and more

Dear Family, Friends, and Colleagues,

The first few days in Kathmandu have been like a jet lag haze, but no time to rest! Visits to thangka painting studios, walks along ancient pathways to watch artisans, many planning meetings and time for old friends. Today, Friday, was the first of a two day workshop held at the beautiful TaragaonNext museum. Today was for heritage professionals, artists, and museum people. Tomorrow is for “regular people” always the most interesting ones, to bring in a treasure for free conservation advice and learning how to document using their own smartphones. Today was over subscribed and we had to provide double the number of lunches, and tomorrow appears to be the same already! Will share with you some images from Day One Treasure Caretaker Training workshop.

Soon, to sleep here in polluted but unique Kathmandu!

Ann

Day One Preservation Open House at TaragaonNext Museum in Kathmandu. A wonderful event where participants and speakers shared ideas and became connected as life-long colleagues.
