Himalayan beauty updates on work

Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,

Today’s conservation work in Lama Guan temple in remote Tsum Valley on Tibetan border was quite a beautiful experience, as I was invited to bring a conservation team in by the community and today the community joined in the actual work. High ranking people in the community were watching a learning conservation style dusting on fragile statues from their own temple. The statues were taken off the shrine so the wall paintings that had not been seen in four generations could be cleaned and stabilized.

Then I walked through beautiful fields to visit another temple to plan conservation work on a village temple there for the end of our visit there. I had seen the paintings in April when they were stored in a shed, and now they are reinstalled in a beautifully built new temple, made of wood and stone in traditional methods.

Looking forward to tomorrow and please send me your news!

Ann
