April 3, 2023: Meetings and Lectures in Kathmandu

By Ann Shaftel

Busy busy time in KTM, and happy to share it with you!
Meetings, meetings, meetings, and lectures too!

For example, a dinner meeting with Dolpo Tulku about his concerns about theft in his remote monasteries. Two meetings so far with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche about preservation of the venerable wall paintings in his monastery. A meeting at UNESCO Nepal headquarters to discuss three proposals I have brought to the table, followed by a meeting at the US Embassy about funding.

So far, one cultural event at a private Newari cultural club, Bajracharya Club, to present a talk and discussion about preservation of wall paintings. Coming up, a class of digital preservation with the Traditional Newari art school, and then three talks for universities.

I promise to send more pictures, and here are a few for now, trust you all are well and please send your own news and any questions,

From Nepal,
Ann
